"Pipe Nest" is a concept for a large walk-trough structure on the south of the east corner of the Para Allex in Jesolo. It was envisaged as an installation made from recycled city pipes that were once lamp posts and railings. Pipe Nest supports a water sprinkler system which pumps out mist above your head and creates an oasis in the heat of the summer. In the cool, refreshing environments, visitors are able to interact with pipes as a musical instruments. Knocking the pipes, which are different lenghts, produces different sounds. The project is part of "EU-PA European Public Art Project”, two years work program promoted by European Commission and coordinated by Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London, UK) in collaboration with CIANT -International Centre for Art and New Technologies (Prague, CZ) and KIBLA-Association for Culture and Education (Maribor, SL). The program aims to realize urban art interventions in four selected European cities.
